About Cars!

The purpose of MOTOR Austin Cars! is to be a database of American cars, trucks and sports cars. There will be one and only one vehicle for each make, model, style and year. In addition to that lofty goal, the vehicles will be owned by folks in the central Texas area!

If you have a MOTOR Austin account, then you can create an entry and add photos and any historical data, spec or, links (similar to a wiki) that pertain to that specific make, model, style and year vehicle.

You don't have to own the car! If you are a fan of a specific make and model car, you can make it your fan page to add photos, news, history, etc.

Guidelines

There will be one and only one vehicle for each make, model, style and year. If it already exists, don't add it. However you may contribute photos and add comments to an existing vehicle.

At a minimum, you need to have four or five good photos of a car that show the front, side, rear and three-quarter view. Why? Because there will be functionality in the future to do stuff like 'show all front views of Fords'. this will be cool because you can see the progression of body styles through the years. It will also help identify a particular year of a car.

Once you create an entry, you are the "owner" or "steward" of that entry. MOTOR Austin administrators can also add information.

MOTOR Austin members can contribute photos to your entry, but you control which photos appear in the article.

There is a limit of 50 images per article.

For all uploaded images, You must own the image or have permission from the copyright holder to display the image. We respect copyright!

Duplicate entries will be deleted because (1) each auto article represents one make, model, style and year vehicle, and (2) you didn't read the Guidelines or don't care.

No Squatters! Autos with no or minimal text and photos will be deleted.
